Job Summary
Comcast's Technology, Product & Experience organization works at the intersection of media and technology. Our innovative teams are continually developing and delivering products that transform the customer experience. We work every day to make a positive impact through innovation in the pursuit of building amazing products that are enjoyable, easy to use and accessible across all platforms both on Broadband and Video products. The team also develops and supports our evolving network architecture, including next-generation consumer systems and technologies, infrastructure and engineering, network integration and management tools, and technical standards. We are looking for a Software Development Manager who is customer-obsessed and thrives in a fast paced environment that requires strong technical and business judgment, solid communication and project management skills. You know how to help engineers navigate priorities and communicate clear expectations with customers. You should be knowledgeable about the architecture of distributed systems and the software development life cycle. The ideal candidate will coordinate across many internal and external teams and provide visibility to the company's senior leaders with their strong written and oral communication skills. We need individuals who can learn quickly, think big, execute strategically and tactically, and motivate and mentor their team to deliver business values to our customers on time. They have creative and startup mindsets and are always excited to take on new, ambiguous projects.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- 10+ years' experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment.
- 10+ years knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and operations .
- 8+ years' experience in engineering team management with practicing DevOps and agile with failing fast culture.
- 10+ years' experience designing or architecting distributed (design patterns, reliability and scaling) new and existing systems.
- 10+ years' experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in an enterprise environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages including Python, Java, database.
- 10+ years' experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Customer obsessed with ensuring the highest standards of end-to-end products released to production.

- Leverages advanced tooling and methodologies to continually elevate quality standards.
- Experience working in AWS, containerized environment and networking
Leadership Responsibilities
- Leads a team in a fast-paced environment that prioritizes solving problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensures all engineers keep current with technological developments within the industry. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products.
- Hire, motivate, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, providing them with appropriate opportunities to succeed in their career objectives.
