Required Skills:
• Licensed as a Mental Health Professional in the State of Minnesota (LICSW, LPCC, LP, LMFT, or related license.)

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Psychiatric Nursing, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or related area.

• Driver's License or evidence of equivalent mobility.

• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Within 6 months of hire, must obtain credentials as an Allied Medical Provider at Ridgeview Medical Center which includes TB screening and proof of immunizations.

Job Description:
Carver County is accepting applications for a Crisis Therapist in our innovative and well-established Mental Health Crisis Program. The Carver County Crisis Therapist provides mobile crisis response services in the community, in two local hospital Emergency Departments and as a co-responder with law enforcement. Under the direction of the Crisis Supervisor, the Crisis Therapist is responsible for providing mobile mental health crisis services to residents of Carver County. The Crisis Therapist provides diagnostic and risk assessments, therapeutic interventions, treatment and disposition planning. Stabilization, follow-up services, safety welfare checks and consultation to community professionals are also provided. Goal is to stabilize the immediate crisis, return and improve a prior level of functioning, coordination of outpatient services and to avoid out of home placements and hospitalization.

Carver County offers a comprehensive benefit plan as well as PTO, 10 paid holidays, and continuing education opportunities. There is an $0.85 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. This position will primarily work evening hours as well as one weekend per month.

The full range for this position is $38.70-$58.06 per hour. The hiring range for this position is $40.17-$48.37 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

• Provides direct diagnostic and risk assessment, brief crisis intervention, treatment planning and follow up services for children, adults, individuals, families and/or groups; and mental health consultation to professionals in the community.

• Provides crisis stabilization services and coordination of care functions.

• Assists in maintaining Crisis Program and collaborative relationships.

• Provides training and education.

• Assists in the development and expansion of mental health crisis response services in Carver County.

• Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
