Job Description
The City of Independence will accept applications at Express Employment, 2009 North Penn Avenue for a
PSW II position for work at the Sanitation Department. Alternately, applicants may also apply online at

Basic Function
Under supervision, operates and maintains light and medium equipment, including trucks, smaller front-end loaders, rollers, motor graders, street sweepers, and related equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Installs, repairs, and locates water and sewer mains and lines
Maintains operation of the water and wastewater treatment plants
Repair streets, manholes and street signs
Picks-up and disposes of trash and brush
Reads, maintains, repairs, tests, and replaces water meters
Trains in operation of equipment
Turns on and off water service
Maintains and repairs water pumps and service stations
May supervise a small crew of laborers
Performs additional duties as assigned
