JOB SUMMARY
Cashiers are the first to greet the customers and last to thank them; this is
crucial to Rural King's Customer Service. They must provide exceptional service through
communication, friendliness and store/product knowledge, as well as maintain exceptional
store safety, appearance, and cleanliness.
JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Ensure that the frontend of the store runs smoothly without interruption
• Greet customers
• Ask every customer if they found what they were looking for
• Promote the weekly promotional item
• Execute cash management, return, and exchange policies accurately
• Perform accurate transactions and price dispute resolution
• Complete cashier-duties chore list
o Front windows and registers cleaned daily
o Bags and supplies filled daily
o Perform accurate transactions in a timely manner
o Always thinking about Bottom of Basket (Bob), Look inside always (Lisa)
• Redline in front of the registers when not with a customer
• Always keep popcorn and coffee full and fresh
• Must be alert to surrounding's at all times for shrink prevention and customer service
• Make sure EAS devices are deactivated and a member of management is asked to come to the
front for resolution if alarm would sound
• Offer load out assistance to all customers and call to make sure a loader has responded
• File paperwork quickly and accurately
• Reconcile with 100% accuracy
• Answer all incoming calls at the registers with proper phone etiquette
• Communicate professionally with all Rural King personnel and customers
• Use general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator,
computer
• May be required to cross train and perform other duties
QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to interact with the team in a fast paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive,
resourceful, and efficient
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Ability to access and use the in-store computer, scanning system, and wireless hand held unit
• Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
• Ability to complete computer-based training

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Good visual acuity
• Close vision for computer work
• Ability to communicate effectively to all audiences
• Ability to verbally communicate effectively and professionally with all audiences (in-person
or via handheld transceiver)
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds repetitively and 21-50 pounds intermittently
• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods
• Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard
• Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day
