Our client, a leader in research medicine, is seeking an Animal Caretaker to join their team in the Philadelphia, PA area.
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Shift: Part-Time (24-32 hrs/wk)
Pay: $19–$21/hour
Type: 6-month contract

Our client, a leader in research medicine, is seeking an Animal Caretaker to join their team in the Philadelphia, PA area.
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Shift: Part-Time (24-32 hrs/wk)
Pay: $19–$21/hour

Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily health checks on animals and report any abnormalities to the veterinary technician or Area Supervisor.
- Properly dispose of deceased animals following standard procedures.
- Change animal caging, ensuring fresh feed and water.
- Sex and wean animals according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain accurate records, including daily animal census sheets, room equipment logs, and other necessary documentation.
- Clean and sanitize the animal facility and assigned rooms.
- Maintain and repair animal caging and support equipment as needed.
- Receive, examine, transfer, identify, and appropriately house incoming animal shipments.
- Assist in the restraint, handling, and care of various animal species.
- Perform routine cleaning, descaling, and preventative maintenance on cage washers and autoclaves, including filter and spray manifold checks.
- Process and prepare clean caging and equipment, including bedding and autoclaving as needed.
- Submit and maintain accurate records, logs, cage cards, and inventory documentation.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Required: High School Diploma/GED
- Preferred: Previous experience working with animals in a private practice, laboratory, or zoo setting
