Job Summary: The Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the Developmental Disabilities program has constant supervision and observation of the individuals served. Duties & Responsibilities: THIS POSITION HAS UP TO A $6,500 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR FULL TIME AND UP TO $3,000 FOR PART TIME POSTIONS- The Direct Support Professional works in a residential home with individuals with Developmental Disabilities. The position requires constant supervision and observation of individuals. She/he assists individuals with their daily needs and in maintaining cleanliness of the residence, and serve as a role model and advocate. Mandatory overtime is required. Direct Support Professionals must be awake during the entire shift; sleeping on the job is prohibited. Education & Experience A High School Diploma and a valid, non-restricted NYS driver's license is required. Related work experience preferred, not required. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate clearly and effectively. Must be able to do all SCIP-R physical interventions including use of lifts that are provided for all required lifting of individuals, and be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Must be able to travel stairs to the 2nd floor as necessary.
