Miller Industries has partnered with Mott Community College on an outstanding 4-year Welding Apprentice Program to develop future skilled Welder/Fabricators. We are currently seeking a 1st Shift Apprentice to work alongside our Journeyman Welders at our state-of-the-art facility in Fenton, MI. Our 1st Shift Hours are Monday – Thursday 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (and some Fridays/weekends as required for production), and we will work your work hours around your class schedule.
If you are a reliable worker, have an eagerness to learn on the job while attending classes at Mott, then this may be the opportunity for you.
To get started you will learn the following:
- Understand how to interpret and use blueprints, welding specifications, and welding procedures.
- Learn to use and read welding measuring devices including but not limited to squares, levels, and tape measures.
- Make repair welds using fabrication equipment including but not limited to cutting torches and hand grinders.
- Learn the proper use of fabrication support equipment.
Requirement:
- 6 months+ of welding education and/or experience in high school, skilled trade center or college.
