Summary:

Works in conjunction with other environmental departments within the Tribal Environmental Office to maintain an environmental presence on the Alabama Coushatta Tribe of Texas' reservation and tribal lands

• Administer the Clean Water Act Section 106 program to protect and preserve surface water on Tribal lands
• Conduct and complete work plan commitments as approved by U.S. EPA through the Clean Water Act Section 106 Grant
• Create and submit annual budget and workplan to U.S. EPA and the Tribe
• Work with U.S. EPA Project Officer pertaining to the CWA Section 106 Grant
• Responsible for completing and submitting all required reports to U.S. EPA, Tribal Administration, and Tribal Council including but not limited to end-of year reports, water quality data submission to EPA WQX.
• Provide outreach awareness and information to the Tribal community
• Will be cross-trained in each Tribal Environmental Office Departments (GAP, Air, Water)
• Remain current on up-to-date information for all aspects related to the surface water issues, including federal laws and regulations
• Conduct presentations to state/federal/tribal departments and organizations
• Maintain on-going relationships with various entities including state/federal and tribal organizations that apply to natural resources or environmental aspects
• Be fully knowledgeable of Alabama-Coushatta's Tribal policy, cultural traditional aspects and issues, State WQ standards and U.S. EPA standards regulations and policies
