The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

Columbia Publishing Course (CPC) at the Graduate School of Journalism is currently seeking Summer assistants to provide administrative support to this program.


Responsibilities

Duties include:

  • Operate photocopiers and scanning equipment to produce copies of documents. Ensure accuracy and organization of files during the scanning process.
  • Perform data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. Regularly update and maintain databases to ensure all information is current and accessible.
  • Assist in all phases of event planning and execution, including venue setup and post-event clean-up. Provide logistical support to ensure events run smoothly and meet planned objectives.
  • Manage and strategically update the program’s social media accounts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned including, but not limited to, running errands to support program needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be self-starters and independent workers with strong verbal and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects and ability to remain professional in a social environment.
  • Some weekend and night work mandatory. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior office experience, prior event planning experience, any photography and/or graphic design skills, and social media skills.
