Job Summary

The Senior Civil Engineer is the engineering team lead and reports directly to the client manager to assist with projects and priorities as assigned. This individual is a lead on single or multiple projects assisting the client manager with budgets, technical responsibilities, and schedules. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Completes, reviews, and directs assignments within timeline and budget allocated, Makes advanced design decisions but refers non-typical and difficult questions/problems to their supervisor. Conducts advanced designs of all aspects of project development under the direction of their supervisor. Reviews plans, details, specifications, and other documentation as requested by their supervisor. Assists with training of team members, new hires, and/or interns. Completes advanced engineering designs of the project under the direction of their supervisor. Revises and updates permit or construction deliverables reflecting design changes in collaboration with client request and agency comments maintaining all revisions of project drawings. Plans and implements engineering design tasks including: explaining the project goals, milestones, and workload requirements to team members. Reports the status of project milestones to their supervisor in order for the schedule to be adjusted accordingly. Reviews designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, client contract requirements, and related specifications. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design issues or problems. Meets utilization goal. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in engineering or landscape architecture with ten years related experience and/or training. Advanced level use of software including but not limited to: AutoCAD/ Civil 3D, MicroStation/ InRoads, HydroCad, TR-55, TR-20, HEC, Microsoft Office, and other applicable design software commonly used. Engineer in Training (EIT), Professional Engineer (PE), or other related professional certification/license is preferred.
