Responsibilities
Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals, grant commitments, i.e. assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, etc. Monitors results, reports unusual outcomes and suggests modifications. Collects, enters and summarizes data. Assists in the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies. Performs basic statistical data analysis; prepares tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data. Presents at research laboratory meetings and contributes to writing of manuscripts. Works under supervision and may perform some assignments independently as discussed and approved by Principal Investigator.
A Research technologist position is available to work with the Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) group that is within Hematology Research.
The CLL research group has a major focus on understanding CLL cell biology, survival, and drug resistance mechanisms.
Responsibilities:
- Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals, grant commitments.
- Collects, enters, and summarizes data.
- Assists in the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies.
- Performs basic statistical data analysis; prepares tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data.
- Presents at research laboratory meetings and contributes to writing of manuscripts.
- Works under supervision and may perform some assignments independently as discussed and approved by Principal Investigator.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A solid understanding of basic lab techniques, equipment, and safety.
- The ability to organize and carry out laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting.
- Experience with basic cell/tissue culture techniques, DNA/RNA isolation techniques, basic PCR techniques, and Western blot techniques. Experience in ELISAs, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry/fluorescence is preferred but not required.
- In addition, this position requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to keep track of, and organize, numerous samples and associated results electronically (i.e., MS Excel, MS PPT, etc) and manually (via storage in freezers).
- Experience with basic data analysis using MS Excel.
- Experience in GraphPad Prism is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Requires bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, other relevant science, or an associates degree with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience. Must exhibit a solid understanding of lab techniques, equipment, and safety. Must have the ability to organize and carry out laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting. Experience with basic data analysis is required. This position requires demonstrated writing skills.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.; $26.77-40.16 hour
