Amergis School Psychologist in Cincinnati, Ohio

Amergis Educational Services is seeking a School Psychologist responsible for providing on-site psychological services to those applicable under the jurisdiction of the state and client.

Responsibilities:

  • Completes multi-factored evaluations (initial and re-evaluations) in compliance with state regulations with in a designated time frame

  • Provides psycho-educational evaluations for patients identified as, or thought to be, handicapped

  • Pyscho-educational assessments shall include:

  • Norm referenced test that measure intelligence, visual motor skills and fine motor skills

  • Interviews with the patient and/or individuals familiar with the patient

  • Observations of the patient

  • Consults individually, or in groups, with patients and/or parents or other personnel on matters relating to the education and mental health of the patients to ensure the development and provision of the most appropriate education program

  • Maintains a monthly Pyscho-Educational Evaluation log for each month of service

  • Maintains client information in a secure and confidential manner consistent with client and local procedures, as well as guidelines set forth by the State and State Board of Psychology

  • Reviews research in current best practice and presents recommendations to client for review and potential implementation as requested, including staff training

  • Adheres to Security, Key and tool control procedures

  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Requirements:

  • Experience in adolescent and /or juvenile offender population is preferred but not required

  • Must maintain current State licensures and/or certifications with no restrictions or limitations

  • Must be able to provide proof of such license and/or certification

  • Observe all laws, regulations and policies of the State Board and Client in providing psychologist services

  • Current BLS required

  • Current TB test or Chest X-Ray

  • Successful completion of Amergis background screening and hiring process

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills required; proficiency in the English language may be required

  • Computer proficiency required
