Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opportunity for a civilian Medical Laboratory Technician-Mobile Blood drive at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

Position Requirements:

Degree/Education: Must have Medical Lab Tech training program accredited by the NAACLS or the ABHES
Certification: as a Medical Lab tech by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT)or state licensure as a medical lab tech
Experience: One year as MLT with Phlebotomy experience
BLS through American Heart Association
Current immunization record

As a Medical Laboratory Technician working within our Mobile Blood Drive Unit, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of blood collection efforts, directly impacting the health and readiness of our service members. You'll work in a dynamic environment, traveling to different locations on the base and neighboring communities, conducting blood drives to meet the critical demand for blood products.

Key Responsibilities:

Blood Collection and Processing: Conduct blood drives at various locations, adhering to established protocols and safety standards for collecting, labeling, and processing blood donations.

Quality Assurance: Perform quality control procedures on equipment and collected blood products to ensure accuracy, viability, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of blood donations, accurately entering data into electronic systems, and ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of donor information.

Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including phlebotomists, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure smooth and efficient blood drive operations.

Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure functionality and accuracy during blood collection activities.
