Job Description
To provide security for patients, visitors & employees. Protect the assets of the Hospital including the buildings & property of Cape Cod Hospital. To enforce all applicable policies, rules, & regulations of the Hospital.
Description
Patrol Hospital buildings & grounds, to protect against fire, theft, illegal entry, infractions of safety regulations & other irregularities.
Insure the security & safety of Hospital properties, employees, equipment & records, as well as, all physical aspects of the property including parking lots & motor vehicles.
Participate in investigations, maintain records & prepare incident reports & other documents pertinent to security activities accurately & completely.
Investigate disturbances & in the event of emergency, take charge of policing to maintain order, safety & to protect property.
Respond to emergency situations such as accidents & injuries crimes & safety hazards. Provide assistance & summon the proper authorities.
Respond to inquiries & assist Hospital personnel; provide assistance in restraining of psychiatric patients as requested.
Secure & unlock offices & facilities.
Secure patient valuables & lost & found articles.
Maintain required records & reports & files as required. Maintain department equipment & supplies.
Attendance required at all education & in-service training programs.
Perform other work-related duties as requested/directed.
Qualifications
Ability to read, write & communicate in English.
High school education or GED.
1-year prior experience as a Healthcare Security Officer preferred.
International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety basic certification program (?IAHSS?) preferred, but not required for employment.
Must have good writing & verbal skills & have the ability to produce a concise, accurate, well written report.
Ability to relate to all age & ethnic groups in a courteous & professional manner.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
CPR (Heart Saver) certification within 4 months of new position.
CPI (Crisis Prevention) within 4 months of new position & must renew annually.
Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training within 4 months of hire & must attend MOAB training every 2 years
Schedule Details:
40 hours per week, 12a-8a, rot. nights, E/O weekend and occ. holidays
