What would I be doing?

The Gaming Floor Person is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. The incumbent is also responsible for contributing to the entertaining atmosphere at Belterra Park by greeting and interacting with guests in a friendly manner, and providing information regarding Belterra Park.

Responsibilities

  • The Gaming Floor Person delivers superior internal and external guest service the Boyd Gaming Way by ensuring every interaction includes (Looking sharp, smiling and greeting the guest; Be friendly, polite and use courteous language; Provide especially timely and knowledgeable service and then some; Always find solutions to guests’ problems; Use the guest’s name when appropriate; Thank the guest and invite him or her back.); and work harmoniously with fellow team members
  • Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with external and internal customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
  • The Gaming Floor Person pays and verifies jackpots on slot machines according to established procedures.
  • Proactively promotes the Players Club card program; understands current card benefits and information and presents program to customers.        
  • The Gaming Floor Person communicates all customer service issues to key personnel.
  • Accurately maintains money flow during shift with customers and employees.
  • The Gaming Floor Person will accurately performs customer transactions.
  • Assists in training new personnel and customer trainees as needed.
  • The Gaming Floor Person monitors work areas to ensure cleanliness standards are achieved and customer requests are addressed and resolved.

What are we looking for?

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees.
  • Ability to distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change.
  • Ability to review and comprehend all necessary documentation and print and write legibly.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around work area.
  • Ability to reach, carry and deliver change to customers and to maintain bank.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • This position spends majority of shift on the gaming floor and is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • Machines and equipment used, but not limited to, include computers, keys, hand cart, hand unit (Section 12), radio, adding machine, and keyboard.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

  • Superior customer service, communication, and employee interaction skills.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Money-handling and change-making skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all appropriate licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older

 

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through two (2) months of on-the-job training in a similar field or through related experience.
