The Jackson School of International Studies (JSIS) combines the social sciences, humanities, and professional fields to enhance our understanding of our increasingly interconnected globe. JSIS currently offers seven undergraduate majors, 14 minors, and nine interdisciplinary MA degrees, as well as a fee-based MA in applied international studies, and a uniquely-designed Ph.D. Program. In addition, graduate students have the opportunity to pursue concurrent degrees with programs in business administration, public affairs, law, public health, marine affairs, and forest resources. JSIS is a department in the Social Sciences Division of the UW College of Arts and Sciences. JSIS has an outstanding opportunity for a Centralized Services Associate Director (E S 9) within the Business Office. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and managing a team, this position will be responsible to develop and manage a new shared service environment across JSIS to support critical services, including communication, outreach, events, and IT services. This position requires strong business acumen, administrative and process improvement skills, and mastery of systems management and operational process efficiencies. A successful candidate is, therefore, required to have strong communication (written, oral, and interpersonal), project management, prioritization, time management, and organizational skills, as well as the flexibility to manage changing priorities. Changing priorities include managing scheduled work while responding promptly to unplanned issues and daily requests for support. This individual will perform a key role in building and providing a centralized services model within JSIS, including management of a work request and management system, development and versioning of policies and procedures, employing best practices and leveraging existing services at the college and university levels. The Centralized Services Associate Director will directly contribute to and be accountable for creating and sustaining a culture of service, accountability, operational efficiency, compliance, and excellence.
