The role of the Buyer & Production Planner encompasses the planning and execution of procurement activities, including the acquisition of raw materials, components, and finished goods. The Buyer/Planner will also support the internal material flow, including goods receiving, work orders, returns, and spare parts deliveries.
This position is a key coordination function in the business and requires close collaboration with suppliers, production, service, order administration, and finance.
The individual in this role will be tasked with coordinating customer orders and optimizing material and workflow. Proficiency in SAP is a prerequisite, as it will be utilized for inventory management, logistics, and production scheduling. The Buyer & Production Planner will ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of all orders.
Furthermore, the Buyer & Production Planner will oversee production planning. This will require collaboration with the production team to guarantee the availability of materials as needed and the optimization of production schedules. The role also includes the responsibility of ensuring that all production orders are completed punctually and within the allocated budget.
Responsibilities
Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material as required by forecast and the production schedule.
Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication, and mitigation of future potential problems.
Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory changes determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation, and material lead times.
Coordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development.
Manage the inter-company flow of materials between warehouse locations.
Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers.
Provide back-up support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, material handling and other duties as assigned.
Setup & maintain material master system planning parameters (MOQ, lead time, safety stocks).
Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply options.
Ensure compliance with all Company and Procurement policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business administration, marketing, or supply chain management.
Experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience working with SAP and coordinating customer orders.
Experience in production planning.
At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $79,906 and $127,00 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position.
