Job Summary | .The South Main Pediatric Clinic at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant that shares our vision and passion for caring for children and their families. The Medical Assistant will have a primary focus on care coordination for patients as well as Spanish interpretation services while engaged in basic healthcare activities. The Medical Assistant will serve as a qualified staff interpreter providing Spanish language interpretation, written translation and assistance in education for non-English speaking patients, their families and other internal and external customers. The Medical Assistant will provide assistance and support and will facilitate the efficient delivery of patient care as directed by licensed staff in rendering basic healthcare to the patient, with a primary focus on Spanish speaking and high-risk patients. The Medical Assistant will administer medications as directed by supervising physician and according to State Law. The Medical Assistant will also assist with administrative/clerical functions. Care is appropriate to the population served. This position is located at the Department of Pediatrics South Main Clinic on 3690 South Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah. Minimum Qualifications | Required Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire. Preferred Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). |
