The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description As a Summer Teacher, you will work with individuals on elementary, secondary, or special subjects coursework including:
• Following course and unit outlines, lesson plans, and individual education plans
• Evaluating and documenting individuals’ performance and progress
Requirements for Continued Employment:
Possession of a permanent/professional or provisional/ initial/conditional initial New York State certificate in the appropriate specialty is necessary for continued employment. Loss of certification will result in termination of employment.

The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Greater Binghamton Psychiatric Center, Children and Youth is recruiting Substitute Teachers for the 2024 – 2025 school year. Substitute Teachers provide classroom coverage and support to the educational instruction provided to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.
Teacher 1 – Bachelor’s degree including satisfactory completion of the semester hours required for the teaching specialty.
Teacher 2 – Current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.
Teacher 3 – Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.
Teacher 4 - Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty and 2 years of post-certification (initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty.
