Description

As a Lighting Engineer you will be responsible for the set up, operation, programming and maintenance of studio lighting systems across radio studios and content capture spaces for a variety of content, including interviews, photography and live music performances in one of our new studio facilities. You will assess project briefs and ensure lighting systems are set up, programmed and operated to the requirements of the project. This position is responsible for: - Incorporating the requirements of the Director, DP and Producer for the shoot or production. - Coordinating with incoming vendors and clients to accommodate incoming technical needs, including rigging support and power distribution for incoming sound, lighting, and video systems. - Assist and/or operate lighting as needed. - Managing lighting equipment inventory, maintenance schedules and associated budgets. - Coordinating rental equipment as required for the shoot or project and manage associated budgets. - Troubleshoot issues or faults in real time and engage service partners where specialist or certified assistance is required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 8+ years of proven industry experience in applicable roles on high-profile live and studio music performances. Practical working knowledge and experience in lighting design for camera, studio and live environments.
  • Verifiable experience of working with lighting vendors and designers - can provide reference letters upon request
  • Technical requirements include:
  • Lighting Programming - Grand MA is our console of choice
  • Rigging - working understanding of rigging principles
  • Power - working understanding of power distribution

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and adapt to rapidly changing production an artist schedules
  • Working knowledge of the ETC Paradigm system in regards to maintenance and programming.
  • Understanding of IP/networking solutions as it relates to lighting systems
  • Strong working knowledge of rigging equipment and procedures, including ability to be proactive and coordinate incoming needs of both internal and external production partners and vendors, in a safe manner
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining strategic, proactive and maintaining a high attention to detail.
  • Highly skilled at handling multiple, complex, concurrent deliverables. Able to respond and adapt to the needs of the team and content plan to ensure a high standard of work is delivered on time and to budget.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to cultivate strong partnerships and earn enrollment across partners in a complicated cross-functional environment.

  • Experience and basic understanding of other departments in a studio and/or live environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, while working under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in AirTable, Keynote, Pages and Numbers. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
