Job Description
The Russ College of Engineering and Technology’s Department of Aviation at Ohio University is seeking highly motivated individuals to become Adjunct Instructors and join a multi-talented diverse group of professionals. The successful candidate will be a high energy goal-oriented individual with a strong background in aviation and commensurate experience to support our growing aviation programs.
The Department of Aviation serves more than 200 students in both the Aviation Management and Flight Option concentrations. The successful candidate will possess the ability to collaborate successfully with faculty, staff, students, and administrators from diverse backgrounds. The individual will be able to use technology effectively for in-person classroom instruction. This position is a teaching position and does not include any flight activities.
Minimum Qualifications
• Master’s degree in aviation or related field.
FAA certifications and ratings appropriate for 14 CFR Part 141 ground instruction.
• Flexibility to instruct ground courses in the aviation management and flight operations majors.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
• Willingness to work with a diverse student base.
Preferred Qualifications
• Doctoral degree in aviation or related field.
• Knowledge of transport category aircraft systems and operations.
• A background in commercial, corporate, or military pilot operations.
