JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Department of Population Health
Sciences in the University of Wisconsin (UW) School of Medicine and
Public Health (SMPH), in collaboration with the Carbone Cancer Center,
invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor
position (tenure track) in the area of cancer epidemiology. Individuals
with research programs in survivorship, community-engaged research, the
exposome including social determinants of health, and/or novel
epidemiologic methods applied to cancer are especially encouraged to
apply. The successful candidate will have their tenure home in
Population Health Sciences and opportunities to collaborate with ongoing
research and educational training programs related to cancer prevention
and control, with expected membership in the UW Carbone Cancer Center,
Wisconsin\'s only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive
cancer center. Depending on the selected candidate\'s expertise and
interests, affiliations with other departments, centers, and institutes
across campus are possible, including the Collaborative Center for
Health Equity, Data Science Institute, Center for Human Genomics and
Precision Medicine, Population Health Institute, the Center for the
Demography of Health and Aging, and the Institute for Clinical and
Translational Research. This faculty appointment will be on an annual
(12-month) pay basis and therefore will include summer compensation. In
addition, a generous start-up package including flexible research funds
will be available for qualified candidates. Population Health Sciences
is an interdisciplinary department with the goal of understanding,
preserving, and improving the health of populations and individuals. The
candidate selected for this role will contribute to the advancement of
this mission through research, teaching, and service, and interact with
a collaborative community of scholars throughout SMPH and across campus.
The successful applicant will develop and lead an extramurally funded
program in cancer epidemiology, as well as participate in administrative
and committee work to support the mission of the School of Medicine and
