Working as a Group14 Process Operator Intern will provide the opportunity to apply your educational knowledge to industrial practical applications in a commercial chemical manufacturing plant. The internship program is designed to provide students with appropriate operational understanding. This internship position offers opportunities to learn in areas of Quality, EHS, and Operations.

Duration: 3-4 months, targeting mid June through mid September, 2024.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

-Recognize safety hazards; follow health & safety guidelines / procedures for personnel protection and the protection of fellow workers and equipment.

-Learn and follow all environmental protection procedures and protocols to help protect our community and the environment.

-Perform hourly/daily/weekly checks of the assigned process area.

-Operate, inspect and monitor assigned process equipment in a safe, efficient environment.

-Learn proper operating procedures.

-Observe variations or disruptions in normal operating conditions. Gauge those readings to help troubleshoot and resolve problems. Make appropriate process adjustments as needed under direction of our team.

-Monitor and record data available through the use of various instruments, recording charts, HMI’s, gauges, meters and other monitoring devices.

-Collect samples and perform hands-on Quality Control test procedures using various lab equipment and instrumentation, then analyze results.

-Help incorporate and use process improvement methodologies such as 5S.

-Through guidance, mentorship and training, you will get a fundamental understanding of certain processes and procedures and how to operate, manipulate and troubleshoot the process equipment within a commercial manufacturing plant and supplier of silicon battery technology.

-Your development is a priority. You will establish relationships, acquire mentors and build your professional contacts.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR :

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Current GPA of 3.0 or higher.

-Have completed at least 30 collegiate credits towards a Process Technology degree or equivalent degree.

-Working within your school schedule, ability to flex onto any shift (24/7), for 4, 8, or 12 hour shift lengths.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

-Ability to stand for a minimum of two hours without assistance.

-Ability to lift 25 lbs.

-Ability to wear a powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) respirator for 30-60 minute periods.

-Participation in medical surveillance per our Industrial Hygiene program.

-Ability to work any shift (24/7), both 8 and 12 hour shift lengths.
