We have an exciting, new full-time opportunity for a Director of Educational Services, who will provide vision and leadership for the day to day operations at our Brookside School located in Cottekill.

This seasoned educator and leader will:

  • Provide supervision and mentorship to the Assistant Director, classroom teachers, related service staff, and all school staff members 

  • Maintain communication with parents/guardians and community members 

  • Foster a safe environment and culture highly conducive to learning and achievement to ensure program goals are evidence based to drive system wide school change 

  • Ensure that the educational program follows state and local regulations and liaisons with school districts to ensure smooth operations of the school 

 In addition, responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • using a student-centered approach and team approach to decision-making  

  • being a visible leader and active member of the school community 

  • understanding preschool and adolescent education and how to effectively balance the social and emotional needs of students and staff with the challenges of providing a well-rounded and rigorous academic program. 

  • having a solid understanding of curriculum, instruction, assessment and sound pedagogy including the use of technology to enhance learning. 

  • being a contributing member of our administrative team-constantly striving to improve the educational opportunities for all students. 

 

SCHEDULE:  40/Monday through Friday - 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

STARTING SALARY: $ 105,000 to $ 110,000 per year

 

  • New York State Certification as a School District Leader (SDL) and School Building Leader
  • Master's in Special Education
  • Administrative and teaching experience; in a Special Education setting preferred
  • Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills
