Overview:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team onsite at our prestigious space industry client in Kent, WA. This role demands a proactive individual with a solid background in engineering, capable of orchestrating the assembly and testing processes of umbilical panels and components. The ideal candidate will excel in a dynamic environment, managing multiple work orders and ensuring all hardware and testing activities are executed efficiently and on schedule.
Core responsibilities can include:
*Write and manage work instructions for the assembly and testing of components, ensuring compliance with industry quality systems such as AS9100.
*Oversee multiple work orders, prioritizing testing and necessary rework sequences to maintain schedule adherence.
*Develop and author comprehensive manufacturing work instructions covering fabrication, assembly, testing, integration, and refurbishment processes.
*Monitor and manage the quality, build sequence, and scheduling of hardware throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
*Conduct engineering drawing reviews and provide approvals for manufacturing readiness.
*Lead repair, rework activities, and root cause analyses for non-conformances, implementing effective corrective actions.
*Design and implement material handling and packaging solutions to ensure hardware integrity during build and test phases.
*Maintain hardware configuration and manage pedigree throughout the build and test process.
*Utilize engineering fundamentals in mechanical design and manufacturing, including GD&T.
*Proficiently use multiple software tools (CAD, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) to support engineering and manufacturing processes.
*Foster professional relationships across teams, escalating risks to schedule or quality to management as necessary.
Qualifications:
*Bachelor"s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
*Demonstrated experience in manufacturing engineering within the space or aerospace industry.
*Proficiency in engineering principles, including a working knowledge of GD&T.
*Experience with CAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
*Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work orders.
*Excellent communication skills, capable of working collaboratively across various teams.
*Knowledge of AS9100 or similar quality management systems is preferred.
* Flexibility with regard to occasional support of non 1st shift.
* Ability to travel up to 25%
* Ability to be on feet for portion of work day
*Must be a U.S. citizen due to the nature of the work

*Material Resource Planning systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE, CostPoint, Epicor, Job Boss)
*Manufacturing Execution Systems (Solumina, Maximo)
* Design systems (CREO, AutoCad, Inventor, Solidworks)
