Required Skills: | PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - This job operates at job sites and is exposed to hazards typical of a construction site, regularly requiring work boots, hard hat, high visibility vest, eye protection and gloves. - Employees are frequently required to walk on uneven surfaces, and occasionally required to kneel, limb, reach, stoop, climb, crouch or crawl. - This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines. - This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. - This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. - Must wear hard hat and work boots. |

Job Description: |
Join us as a Safety Representative, where you'll cultivate safety-driven cultures, educate field staff on procedures, conduct inspections, and interpret safety requirements. This role supports Twin Cities jobsites and offers potential collaboration with our Rochester office.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop professional relationships with General Foreman, Project Managers, and field employees through strong leadership to promote a safety driven culture. - Educate field staff regarding safety procedures and processes. Toolbox talks Formal training Coaching - Inspect company operations to determine compliance with safety standards. Temporary electrical installations COVID-19 transmission practices Ergonomic risk assessment - Recommend corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations. Formal audit report Coaching and consultation - Interpret customer safety requirements and develop safety plans accordingly. Site specific safety plans - Implement customer safety processes and requirements. - Distribute educational materials for review. Toolbox talks - Report findings of near miss, incident, and injury investigations. Reviews Corrective action follow-up - Report corrections and progress to Safety Manager as requested. Elevate concerns as needed - Analyze processes, behaviors and incident trends. - Recommend process improvements where indicated.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS - High school diploma or equivalent. - 5+ years of experience in a related construction safety role or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience in the electrical industry preferred. - Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management or related field. - Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the safety industry. - Demonstrates industry knowledge and independent judgment to make decisions. - Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with individuals with a variety of backgrounds. - Ability to effectively train, positively influence and motivate others. - Proven problem-solving, time management, and customer service skills. - Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. - Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new programs and applications.
