Advertising/Posting Title UAS Technician
Posting Summary
Serve as an Unoccupied Aircraft Systems (UAS) technician in the University of Vermont Spatial Analysis Laboratory. Acquire, process, analyze, and document UAS datasets. Develop training materials and participate in instructional activities. Carry out research related to UAS applications and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.
  • FAA 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification with valid sUAS rating.
  • Six months of experience with UAS flight operations using multirotor, fixed-wing, and/or VTOL sUAS.
  • One year of geospatial experience, including university-level coursework.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, terminology, and trends in UAS industry, geospatial technology, and disaster response.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain FEMA IS-100, IS-200, and IS-700 certifications.
  • Ability to obtain CPR and first-aid certifications.
Desirable Qualifications
Anticipated Pay Range $20.00 - $24.50 per hour
