Opportunity Overview:

This position will support multiple groups who design and implement non-safety control systems, turbine control systems and plant computers for the nuclear power industry. Our customers operate worldwide and include existing nuclear power plant operators plus new plant projects based on the AP1000 and APR1400 designs. Individuals in this position will work closely with multiple disciplines including functional design, software design, hardware design, and testing. Work will be assigned and guided by the respective discipline technical leads. The ideal candidate should have an interest in and basic understanding of industrial control systems and the fluid systems common to a nuclear power plant.
This is an entry level position but offers the potential for significant growth in a variety of areas depending on individual capabilities and interest.

What your day-to-day looks like:

Support the design and development of industrial control systems and/or plant computers by analyzing requirements and reviewing customer provided design input
Implement control logic and HMI displays based on the functional design
Support a variety of calculations including software hazards analysis, susceptibility analysis, FMEAs, and Power/Heat load calculations
Prepare documents to support the design, implementation, and delivery of the industrial control systems
Prepare and execute test procedures for both unit and system level testing
Perform other V&V related activities to support project quality plans

Up to 25% travel could be required to support of customer systems though additional opportunities for field and site work are generally available.

What we'd like to see from you:

Education:

Engineering Degree in (Electrical, Mechanical, or Nuclear)

Experience/Requirements:

0-1 years of experience in a similar role
Experience with common PLC, SCADA, or DCS platforms is desired.
Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques
Understanding of control theory including plant processes, process dynamics, basic control, discrete control, and sequential control.
Experience in industrial environments or with industrial control systems is a plus.
Awareness of field devices and control devices typical to the power industry is a plus
Awareness of typical industry standard drawings including P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, cabinet drawings and panel layouts is a plus
