WELDER:

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our team! As a Welder for D.W. Lift Sales, Inc., you will be responsible for safe operations of appropriate equipment to cut, assemble, and join metals and other materials putting together structures or parts with a great deal of precisionbased upon established specifications.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

       Ability to read and understand blueprints.

       Knowledge of metallurgy and various manual and mechanical welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel welding.

       Sourcing the materials to be used in the project.

       Precise measurement and cutting materials to specifications.

       Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method to be used based on requirements.

       Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).

       Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.

       Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.

       Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).

       Test and inspect finished work welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws and make sure that it falls within the specifications marked on the blueprints.

       Operate forklift, cranes, and/or other lift assist equipment.

       Observe relative safety standards and procedures, and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

       Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

       Inform management of needed maintenance operations.

       Report any damages to machines and/or equipment.

       Maintain a neat and clean work area.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

       Proven experience as welder using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)

       Experience using powered and/or manual tools (grinders, saws, precise measuring tools, etc.)

       Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.

       Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with utmost attention to detail.

       Good time-management skills to be punctual at work and efficiently productive with projects.

       Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written

       Able to work in a supportive team environment.

       Customer-service skills to be good at listening, understanding, and communicating with paying customers.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

       High School Diploma or GED

       Vocational School Diploma or Graduation

       Technical or Trade School Certificate

       Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

       Physical fitness and stamina to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy materials, climb ladders, or work in small and cramped spaces.

       Dexterity to work with small objects and/or in small spaces requires a steady hand and good hand-eye coordination.

       Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus and attention to detail to notice the smallest of imperfections.
