ABOUT THE JOB
Hawkins is looking for a Chemical Process Technician to join our pharmaceutical team at our Minneapolis, MN facility (off Hwy 280 & E Hennepin Ave) to manufacture and package products. This position is responsible for safely operating, handling, and maintaining production equipment while upholding Hawkins' high standards for quality, safety and production measures.
Responsibilities
Handle, store, transfer and transport chemical material.
Through manual and/or automated operation, control continuous and batch processes while adjusting variables such as temperature, feed rate, pressure, etc. in accordance with SOPs.
Accurately and completely fill out required paperwork, including test results, instrument readings, shipping and receiving paperwork, inventory sheets, inspection reports, etc.
Provide routine minor maintenance to process equipment and instrumentation.
Provide routine maintenance and housekeeping in the plant.
Uphold Hawkins' standards for quality and safety through continuous improvement activities and adherence to applicable environmental, safety and health regulations and policies.
ABOUT YOU
High school diploma or equivalent
Effective ability to communicate and read safety and procedure documents
Previous experience and demonstrated proficiency safely operating an industrial forklift preferred
Basic math and computer skills and knowledge of MS Office required; prior ERP experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, reaching and pulling
Ability to climb and/or work at heights while using stairs and ladders
Ability to safety operate an industrial forklift when required
Ability to wear PPE and equipment such as safety shoes, face shields, safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, gloves and hard hat, chemical suit and/or hair/beard net when required
Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements (for respirator use, SQF-certified environments, etc.)
Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and wet environmental working conditions
Willing to work around chemicals and industrial machinery
