Summary:

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Low Voltage Electrical Superintendent for the Digital Integration Group to provide coordination, planning, and supervision to Assistant Superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a specific area of discipline. Positive attitude and behavior are necessary as you will interact with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Demonstrating flexibility, resourcefulness, dedication, and efficiency with a high level of integrity and confidentiality will be critical for success. You will develop and improve customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
Organization, flexibility, excellent customer focus and strong communication are critical in performing duties which include, but are not limited to:
Planning and implementation to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule
Provide drawing, constructability, submittal reviews, and feedback with the engineering team, verifying that the quality of materials, equipment, and workmanship conforms to the specifications and updates of the contract document
Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies
Ensure high-quality installation of technology portions of the project, including underground cabling, structured cabling, access control, audio-visual, security systems, etc. - this includes self-performed work and work completed by trade partners
Participate in the development and management of a project schedule to include three and six week look ahead schedules
Develop a site logistics plan
Work with the project engineers and project managers to develop and implement a material procurement plan that supports the project schedule and ensures work teams complete scope efficiently
Lead the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment
Ensure work teams have the necessary resources and support
Collaborate with project partner superintendents to ensure the scope of work is integrated with the overall project plan
Anticipate and review preceding work for acceptable completeness and coordinate with other project partner superintendents to remove obstacles to success
Participate in project meetings, and provide liaison between field engineers, superintendents, and contractors or craft workers to ensure technology components of the project comply with drawings and specifications
Ensure correct implementation of the Mortenson Project Quality Plan (PQP) and assist in the development and updating of the project control logs and QC documentation; assist with the development of technology Integrated Work Instructions (IWIs)
Conduct effective pre-construction planning sessions and project site meetings
Coaching, supervisory, and development responsibilities
Manage and track work progress and craft productivity
Conduct on-site project orientations
Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews
Responsible for the mentoring, management, and timely performance evaluation of Assistant Superintendent(s), General Forepeople, Forepeople, and Craft
Interview, hire, transfer, and if needed terminate craft team members
Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards
Manage craft team member training, ensuring they are current prior to starting task
Conduct career development discussions with forepeople and craft team members
Other duties as assigned, including:
Provide management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members
Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions
Seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures
Qualifications:
Minimum eight years construction experience with three of those years having supervisory experience
Experience overseeing self-perform work
An in-depth understanding of technology and low voltage systems in the commercial building space (both inside and outside the building)
Proficiency in the installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of low voltage cables
Low voltage experience required (i.e., cabling, telecom etc.)
Shown ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
Detail orientation sufficient to organize and lead multiple project tasks
Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
Microsoft Office skills at an intermediate level
Shown positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
Comfortable navigating labor representative relationships in union and non-union markets
Current driver's license
100% travel
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience
BICSI Certification: Preferred, not required
