Summary:

Barr is seeking a systems analyst to act as an internal consultant, working with stakeholders across the company to support our GIS and data management systems as applicable. The responsibilities of this position may extend to the support of additional systems as needed.

In this role, you will be asked to take on various technical projects supporting Barr's project technologies (e.g., GIS and data management systems), work with users to define system needs, and lead improvement implementation projects.

Responsibilities include:


Support system development, conversions, upgrades, and enhancement efforts

Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of the ArcGIS server environment, including the optimization of GIS resources

Manage ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Online, and Enterprise Security

Assist with the development of GIS system architecture design and maintenance strategy

Assist with database development and support

Complete system/data integrations and task automation

Create and enforce policies for effective systems management

Facilitate and oversee support from vendors

Propose solutions and strategies to platform challenges

Automate complex GIS procedures to increase efficiencies and the overall platform effectiveness

Develop long-range planning requirements for a sustainable GIS environment

Develop data integrations and analytics with multiple platforms

Ensure effective data security and backup procedures

Support IT in system modification as required, both technically and as a business owner, to achieve improved data flowdesigns

Communicate technical information and ideas for a wide range of audiences


Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in a related field

3 years of related experience

Experience working with ESRI tools and applications or equivalent

Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) and SQL Server Integration Services

Ability to understand, map, and document systems and processes

Experience with proactively recommending enhancements to information and process management

System testing and upgrade experience

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information withattention to detail and accuracy

Strong client service skills including the ability to understand, educate, and build relationships with internal clients and vendors

Strong organizational skills including the ability to plan, monitor, and follow through on work commitments

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:


Experience administering ArcGIS Online/Enterprise

Experience working with FME/or Python

ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise Portal/Online, System Monitor, and ArcMap experience



A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of Barr's Ann Arbor, Bismarck, Duluth, Grand Rapids, Hibbing, Jefferson City, Minneapolis, or Salt Lake City offices.
