Job Description: |
The City of St. Cloud is accepting applications for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. This is skilled work of the journeyman level in the maintenance and repair of gasoline, diesel, and/or electric powered equipment. Work involves the responsibility of performing skilled mechanical repair and maintenance of light and heavy-duty vehicles and standard and specialized equipment in accordance with standard trade practices. A position of this class may be assigned to direct and instruct seasonal employees during certain times of the year. Duties include welding, and fabrication of parts and/or other tasks relating to the upkeep of equipment. Employees work under general supervision, using independent judgement as to the method of repair after receiving oral instructions or written work orders.
