Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum of 1-2 years previous experience.
• Ability to understand and interpret drawings.
• Ability to use and read measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry.
• Familiarity with properties of metal.
• Ability to administer computer-aided drafting and design.
• Ability to use excel spread sheet.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Advanced knowledge of power tool usage.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently following general procedures.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to operate general office equipment such as telephone, copier, fax, computer, etc.

Job Description:
SUMMARY:
Program and setup a CNC mill with the appropriate tooling to produce, modify, or repair precision parts. While operating the machine the CNC Machinist monitors the machinery and machining sequences, as well as conducts regular quality checks to ensure parts are running properly and produced according to specifications. Accuracy is crucial to the success of our products, so the CNC Machinist must pay attention to detail and be focused on their work.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Part Production:
• Maintain CNC mill and ensure it is in good working order.
• Write and modify simple programs.
• Run machine programs as required.
• Setup machinery to successfully run parts as specified.
• Monitor machine operations throughout the cycle, checking that specifications are met.
• Perform all necessary CNC mill maintenance and minor repairs.
• Follow safety practices at all times.
• Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately.
• Keep work area(s) clean and organized.
• Obtain work orders from the production spreadsheet.
• Understand the production list of machines needed to ship.
• Take appropriate materials from inventory to make parts.
• Provide parts to the assembly department or put them into stock.
• Work with Engineering to develop new parts and make prototypes.
• Work from complicated drawings and sketches to develop parts.
• Maintain tooling inventory and submit timely requisitions to purchase shop supplies including, but not limited to… coolant, bits, and taps.
• Complete work orders on time and monitor time expectations.

Computer System:
• Perform computer transactions to kit and complete work orders.
• Maintain and verify inventory accuracy by participating in cycle counts and adjusting work orders as necessary.
• Modify “Bobcad” CNC program.


Miscellaneous
• Maintain general housekeeping of work area and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
