DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY SERVICES: WYOMING COUNTY COMMUNITY HEALTH SYSTEM HOURS: Primarily day shift SALARY: $123,600.00 per year - Full Time LOCATION: Wyoming County Community Health System 400 North Main Street, Warsaw, New York 14569 DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The Director of Emergency Services is responsible for management of the registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical surgical aides and clerical support in the ED. The Director of Emergency Services collaborates with nursing leadership, physicians, and ancillary departments implementing and evaluating services, programs and activities with the goal of continuous performance improvement. The Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations and professional nursing practice of the Emergency Department. The Director participates in supervision of acute nursing units, nursing service functions and activities as assigned. The Director is responsible for hiring and firing of nursing personnel, periodic employee evaluations, orientation of new employees, marketing of services and performance improvement activities. The Director of the Emergency Department is responsible for cost center budget assigned to this department. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, AND B. Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with an Associate's degree in Nursing, BSN preferred, AND C. Two (2) to five (5) years experience as a nursing leader in area assigned with experience in direct clinical supervision. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: A. Current BLS and ACLS recertification, AND B. Licensed to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse under the laws of New York State, AND C. CEN Preferred or must be obtained within one year of appointment, AND D.
