Required Skills:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Food Science and Technology or closely related field. The qualified candidate must have at least 3 months of experience in a quality assurance supervisor position or closely related occupation. The qualified candidate must also have at least 3 months of experience with all of the following: (a) conducting audits to verify quality assurance of products; (b) analyzing and developing quality assurance standard operating procedures; (c) ensuring sanitation standards are being followed to reduce food safety risks; (d) adhering to and enforcing federal food safety and USDA regulations; and (e) executing continuous quality improvement and testing procedures. All experience may be gained concurrently.

Job Description:
Develop and implement quality assurance procedures and standards. Inspect food processing areas to ensure compliance with government regulations and standards for sanitation, safety, quality, and waste management. Define scope of testing, develop test plans, and create test protocols. Deliver effective training on Food Safety and Federal Regulations. Evaluate food processing and storage operations and assist in the development of quality assurance programs for such operations. Develop food standards and production specifications, safety and sanitary regulations, and waste management and water supply specifications. Maintain plant sanitation standards and processes to reduce food safety risks. Conduct Food Safety Audits to identify deviations in current process. Continuous improvement of manufacturing lines and shelf-life improvement project handling. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define quality metrics, establish benchmarks, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure compliance with industry standards. Ensure that project and department goals are met and adhere to the approved budget. Conduct thorough reviews and assessments of existing quality assurance processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions. Conduct root cause analysis and preventative actions for customer complaints. Supervise 3 subordinates with the following titles: Quality Assurance Analyst (3).
