Job Description

 
The position requires a broad knowledge of applicable New York State and Federal regulations as well as the ability to develop, implement, and coordinate curriculum, multidisciplinary programming, and community relationships. The Ellenville Program Coordinator must be an effective supervisor utilizing open communication with excellent organizational skills. It is expected this person will steward the agency with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence always. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Function as building administrator Coordinate Ellenville Spectrum Services center-based programs. Keep Executive Director informed and updated on all educational program needs and information. Keep Executive Director and Facilities Manager informed of all pertinent issues relevant to safety and maintenance of the building. Work collaboratively with Curriculum/Staff Training Coordinator, Kingston Program Coordinator and Kingston Education Department Head to implement curriculum and staff development consistently between the Ellenville and Kingston sites Communicate with Curriculum/Staff Training Coordinator, Kingston Program Coordinator and Kingston Education Department Head regarding program needs and supports Interface with Department Heads to coordinate consistency of programming between sites. Communicate with school districts and county representatives as needed. Interview and hire all Ellenville Spectrum Services staff. Plan and facilitate staff meetings Attend team meetings and/or review all team meeting notes Maintain a safe and healthy working environment; keep Executive Director informed of any safety concerns. Oversee student intake/enrollment procedures. Oversee the coordination and administration of Parent/Teacher Conference meetings, quarterly Progress Reports and Annual Reviews. Coordinate, administrate and attend annual review/CSE/CPSE meetings. Oversee all aspects of student transportation. Oversee functioning of school nutrition program Oversee functioning of the school nurse department Maintain and implement inclement closing information and procedures. Conduct/Participate in formative and summative staff evaluations. Maintain current class schedules and related service IEP compliance. Coordinate ordering of instructional materials, office supplies and building-related purchases. Participate in community outreach and education. Plan in-service workshops with administrative staff. Observe in classrooms and provide meaningful feedback. Oversee behavior management techniques and follow students behavior plans. Promote integration/inclusion strategies among staff and between programs. Meet with support staff on a regularly scheduled basis. Interface with local Police, Building Inspector and Ellenville School District administrators as needed Conduct fire drills and all Emergency drills as required Complete and maintain yearly drill log Participate in annul Fire Inspection and maintain historical records Communicate with Medicaid Compliance Officer regarding Medicaid polices Demonstrate familiarity with and adhere to state and federal regulations and policies (i.e. SED, Medicaid, Office of Children and Families). Qualifications Masters degree in education. (Masters degree in special education preferred) Administrative Certification (SBL, SDL or SDA).
