The Role

Our MLEU group is looking for a Manager Consulting to join our journey. We're looking for someone who has experience with freight brokerage. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for building / leading / transformation and analyzing data.

We're looking for Consulting Managers who can deliver within Cognizant's Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Manager Consulting (which is a Senior Manager level position) this means leading a team of Consultants through a client-facing engagement, managing escalations, and serving as a the owner of a workstream; maintaining expertise in your domain; meaningfully contributing to the sales process through a mix of RPI development, client presentations, financial modeling, pricing strategy, and flawless delivery; creating service offerings and/or client partner training materials; and contributing to PeopleCare initiatives, recruiting, and mentoring. Responsibilities


Consult directly with our clients and provide advisory services designed to help them solve their most complex business and technology challenges
Manage and direct a small-to-medium team of Consultants through client engagement, analysis, business case development, and the development of focused and contextual solutions
Lead communications with project stakeholders, including status reporting, priority setting, and timely issue resolution
Contribute to the thought leadership of your practice and contribute to one or more practice initiatives or service offerings (e.g., Strategic Consulting Points (SCPs), the building of consulting assets or solutions)
Maintain expertise in your industry or capability group: freight brokerage expert
Encourage and facilitate the business development activities of project teams through activities such as opportunity validation, strategy approval, RFI support, storyline, proposals, & client presentations
Engage with client contacts to generate leads and identify new opportunities for consulting services.
Recognize, capture, store, and promote the sharing of engagement collateral and IP (e.g., blogs, white papers, case-studies, articles)
Supports the implementation of one or more practice initiatives or service offerings (e.g., Strategic Control Points (SCP), consulting assets, solutions)
Serve as a people leader within Consulting, supporting professional development of the team
Conduct recruitment activities, support onboarding, contribute or conduct performance reviews, lead career growth discussions with Business Analysts, Consultants, and Senior Consultants.

Qualifications


Experience in Consulting, Product Management, Business Analysis, Process Engineering
Industry Domain: Transportation & Logistics domain - Preferably Road transportation (Freight brokerage, 3PL, Courier Express and Parcel)
The track record and experience to achieve the above, which includes ideally 6-8+ years of management consulting experience, where at least 2 of those (though ideally 4+) have been Digital technology (business or technical consultative) team lead experience
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Information Technology, Business, Communications, Finance, Logistics, Marketing, Engineering, or equivalent
The ability to set and manage multiple project plans for a single client; a command of project management principles and a track record of applying them to drive transformation successfully
Experience leading technical and non-technical initiatives; previous experience coordinating workstreams in multi-team projects, ideally using an onsite / offshore model
Leadership skills that bring out the best in others; the ability to oversee multiple Consultants and non-consultants who are working toward a common goal - the best possible outcome for a client
A desire to work with enterprise-level clients and the ability to manage through complexity
Relevant domain, industry, or product certifications, depending on your industry/capability majors and minors.
Experience with program quality frameworks, methods, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma)
MBA or PGDM degree Preferred
