POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Program Manager with power electronics and design engineering experience to lead key strategic medial power product development programs for AE. As cross-functional team leader and member of the PMO staff in a matrixed organization, you will have ownership of assigned Global Hardware Development Programs & Projects taking them from concept to commercialization, in accordance with AE’s Product Development Process (PDP). This includes developing program goals that support the business objectives and developing and executing strategies and plans to meet the goals of the medical business unit.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic and tactical planning, and manage overall execution of the assigned portfolio of programs, requiring cross-functional and often cross-site coordination

  • Manage all aspects of the NPI and/or sustaining program including defining work scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, and performance milestones; develop cost, scope, and schedule baseline; monitor/control cost and schedule variance; and change control

  • Manage the creation, prioritization, review, and ongoing updating of product requirements for assigned Programs and Projects

  • Risk Management - Anticipate potential roadblocks and work with project teams to systematically evaluate, communicate risks and Develop risk mitigation plans

  • Analyze and report actual performance vs. program goals. Monitor and communicate status, progress to Milestones and KPIs to internal and external stakeholders, and senior management

  • Schedule and run assigned PDP phase reviews and program reviews.

  • Improve, recommend, and implement program and project management tools for PMO

  • Lead or contributor of business process improvement initiatives and governance process development and implementation

  • Other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Location: Eden Prairie, MN and surrounding areas

  • Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (phone, PC, internet, copier, fax machine, etc.). Extended hours will be necessary depending on market conditions. Travel, both domestic and international, up to 10% of work time, is anticipated. This position has a significant number of interdepartmental communications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with hardware development

  • Good organization, planning and prioritization skills

  • Experience in program management including planning and senior management interface

  • Excellent face-to-face communication skills and communication across international locations in a matrix environment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks

  • Willingness to travel in support of company activities

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • Approximately 5-plus total years relevant work experience required

  • Relevant work includes product management, project management involving electro-mechanical products

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a program and provide direction to a cross functional team

Desirable:

  • Product experience within the medical equipment market

  • Experience in program management and reporting tools

  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum processes - preferred

  • PMI or PMP - preferred

EDUCATION:

Essential:

  • B.S. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Science, or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or related field desirable

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $120,000 to $150,000 per year.
