The System Administrator supports IT operations at Husky Terminal. The duties of the System Administrator are wide-ranging and ever-expanding as technology advances. This role will work closely with operations and various IT staff to ensure day-to-day incidents are quickly resolved. The position will require onsite and remote troubleshooting with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of an IT team. The ideal person must have a strong passion for technology and the experience with the fast-paced industrial environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Serve as a technical resource on Windows server systems hardware and software and its effective application at Husky Terminal
Install and configure new Windows server hardware, software, peripherals, and services in accordance with current IT standards; manage, and configure Active Directory infrastructure
Accountable for configuring Window server operating systems
Maintain, grant, and revoke user and groups access to data/files/applications
Create/Onboard new users and vendors accounts
Create and maintains network shared folder, shared printer, and group policy objectives
Monitor and review system logs, detect and troubleshoot problems
Install, manage, and maintain anti-virus software
Assist with troubleshooting and problem resolution in Windows server and associated systems
Manage O365 Exchange storage and mailbox databases
Update, work and close tickets in IT ticketing system
Mentor and act as a point of escalation to Help Desk team
Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and manage enterprise applications
Manage, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot all storage equipment and related services
Assist in storage backups, data retention and migration, and related user community services
Assists users with software, hardware, connectivity, and related issues; provides training on new or modified equipment
Ensures system operates in line with specifications by monitoring equipment functions
Monitors the assigned network, ensuring optimal function and minimal downtime
Ensures networks are protected from physical harm, viruses, unauthorized users, and damage to data by developing and monitoring security procedures or collaborating with network security staff
Drafts checklists, processes, and knowledge bases for help desk and other support staff
Maintain and troubleshoot all local IT components specific to the business, including PCs, Printers, TOS, GOS, OCR, GPS, RFID, LTE, etc.
Maintain all local IT infrastructure including switches, routers, servers, wired/wireless infrastructure, VOIP hardware, custom hardware solutions, etc.
Remotely manage Microsoft based systems
Maintain and resolve issues on LAN/WAN/WWAN, VoIP phones, AV system connections
Communicate efficiently and effectively with vendors, customers, and users
Ability to support 24 X 7 terminal operations
Attend required safety trainings and meetings; follow all safety and health guidelines, standards, practices, policies, and procedures; and actively participate in the Husky's Emergency Preparedness program and activities

Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related major in a public or accredited private academic institution required; additional years' experience can be substituted in lieu of an undergraduate degree
At least 3 years of experience with LAN and WAN technologies, including multiple network operating systems, topologies, and protocols, required
5+ years of related information technology experience required
Maritime industry and union environment experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
Certifications such as Net+, Sec+, CCNA, MCSA, CISM, CSA are highly preferred

Technical Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:
Advanced experience with Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and Windows server environments preferred
Experience in supporting Apple and Android mobile devices preferred
Wired and wireless networking troubleshooting experience preferred
Advanced knowledge of server administration
Knowledge of network infrastructure
Knowledge of server security configuration
Knowledge of server replication technologies
Knowledge of communication protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS)
Knowledge of DNS services and domain routing
Knowledge of SSL encryption and installation
Knowledge of content management systems
Knowledge of Microsoft O365 environment, applications, and tools
Knowledge of Internet Information Server (IIS) and the basic operation of websites, application pools, ports and SSL Certifications
Attention to details and effective organizational skills
Strong decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of employees, management, customers, and vendors
Required Credentials:
Obtain and Maintain TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) issued by the Department of Homeland Security
