About the Job
MN Landscape Arboretum Coffee Cart Associate The University of Minnesota's Landscape Arboretum is looking for Coffee Cart Associates to staff the Coffee Cart onsite. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to making coffee, specialty coffee drinks, and other beverages available for sale, providing customer service, and processing sales. This cart will operate outdoors when weather conditions allow. This is a casual position with no more than 14 hours of work per week and is located at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, MN. Anticipated shifts: 8am - 3pm; Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and special events Job responsibilities Maintain proper set-up and close down of Coffee Cart when scheduled Prepare coffee, specialty coffee drinks, and other beverages available for sale Operate POS system and comply with all cash handling policies Maintain Coffee Cart supplies and stock products when assigned Maintain product presentation throughout the day Complete production records Maintain cleanliness of service area including emptying trash, recycling and composting Operate coffee brewers and other small service equipment Put away supplies Complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning as assigned Follow Food Safety and Sanitation standards Greet customers in a courteous and friendly manner Assist in training other employees Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards customers, co-workers and management Work effectively and efficiently with the events team, facilities team, and catering staff Expediently communicate any challenges, guest complaints or requests to the Supervisor Arrive at scheduled start time
Qualifications
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Must have some experience working as a cashier using US currency Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate Basic mathematical and computer skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and staff Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and to write simple correspondence. Must be able to stand for long periods of time Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees. Ability to handle keys and locks Available to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Ability to work both indoors and outdoors Preferred Familiar with Arboretum spaces, personnel, and practices Prior barista experience

Pay and Benefits
