Seasonal Full-Time Camp Director - Camp Edey Join us for the best summer of your life as the on-site Camp Director at our girls-only summer camp in beautiful Bayport, NY! Imagine spending your days under the sun, surrounded by laughter and the thrill of adventure, guiding young girls aged 5-14 to make memories theyll never forget. Were looking for a dynamic leader ready to dive headfirst into camp life! About the Role: As Camp Director, you will oversee all day and overnight camp operations, ensuring an enriching and safe experience for campers and staff. You (lead a spirited team) of 30 counselors, including international staff living on-site, alongside domestic lifeguards, kitchen crew, and the overnight health supervisor. A critical component of this role is developing and overseeing the sleepaway program, including planning and running evening and overnight activities in collaboration with sleepaway counselors. This full-time, seasonal role is ideal for a leader passionate about creating a transformative camp experience for girls. The role focuses on day and sleepaway programs. On-site living and meals are provided, offering a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant Camp Edey community. Key Responsibilities: Rally and motivate a vibrant team of counselors, lifeguards, and more, to foster a supportive and inclusive camp community. Lead and support a diverse team of counselors, lifeguards, kitchen staff, and the overnight health supervisor, creating a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Design and execute engaging and age-appropriate activities for the sleepaway program, including evening and overnight events, ensuring a positive and memorable experience for campers. Oversee all aspects of day-to-day camp operations, including food ordering, supply management, and inventory. Craft a daily schedule that balances fun and structure for both day and sleepaway programs. Devise and implement a comprehensive daily and nightly schedule for both day and sleepaway programs. Coordinate vendor payments, manage payroll, and maintain accurate financial and operational records. Ensure compliance with all applicable local rules and regulations, including obtaining and maintaining the Department of Health permit. Team up. Collaborate with property management staff to maintain a safe, clean, and functional camp environment. Provide leadership and support in managing emergencies and resolving unexpected challenges. Perks of the Role: This position includes on-site housing in a private studio cottage with a kitchenette, en-suite bathroom, laundry, and meals provided during the camp season. Meals are included or can be provided as an additional stipend. Compensation/Work Hours: Monday-Friday live-on-site schedule from June 23 August 30 with active daytime hours (8:00 AM 4:30 PM) managing camp operations and evenings in a supervisory/advisory role for overnight staff. Weekends off. $15,000-20,000, dependent upon experience, for the season (May 1 - September 1). Please note that the position requires maintaining residence on Camp. Required Qualifications: At least 25 years old Bachelors Degree required Proven management experience and leadership in camp operations or a related field, with oversight of overnight or residential programs preferred Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a large, diverse staff team.
