We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Professional to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead a team in the areas of new supplier pipeline generation, supplier corrective action, supplier competency and capacity validation. The Director, Global Supplier Development will also be responsible for developing strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of Genie's SQE operations and processes. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing, Logistics, and Distribution. The successful candidate will work closely with other functions including Category Management, Materials Management, Quality, and Operations to ensure Genie can successfully support volume ramps globally while maintaining best-in-class quality standards. This position will also collaborate with the sourcing and materials teams in onboarding new suppliers including Genie forecasting systems, Invoicing processes, and packaging requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Support development of strong supply base to deliver world class quality at lowest total cost of ownership
Identify potential new suppliers and evaluate commercial and technical capability and capacity to meet business needs
Assist the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing, Logistics, and Distribution in establishing localization targets in emerging markets and execute plan
Train various functions within Genie and suppliers in our Supply Assurance System and its elements, including audit standards, corrective action processes, and part qualification process.
Expand the mix of competent suppliers to ensure stable supply of products from different global locations, with focus outside of existing regional supply base locations
Work Closely with Suppliers with early involvement to develop advance component development plans, advising suppliers on right tooling, checking aids, providing timely inputs to suppliers on Quality, Delivery, and field issues with a view to institute proactive approach on quality
Develop strong process and management system for assessing suppliers against the needs and specifications required by internal stakeholders
Manage key suppliers to ensure issues are effectively resolved in a timely manner and ongoing performance is improved
Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing, Materials Management, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to develop new suppliers to support NPD programs and product transfers
Work closely with engineering and production to support strategic development activities and associated risk management of the supplied quality of parts and assemblies
Direct responsibility for the assessment of SQE services, supplier capabilities and relevant rate readiness assurance
Determine opportunities for training, resources, and tools for the global SQE team
Develop and report on KPIs to measure and improve global SQE activities
Design, develop and improve processes, systems, measures and action plans that support the above
Possess a passion for improving supply chain performance
Prepares pertinent information for monthly operations reviews with Genie and Terex executive management team, interfaces with Terex Corporate and other Terex divisions' supply chain teams
Ability to travel worldwide on a frequent basis
Understanding of integrated supply chain and logistics concepts (INCOTERMS, title & risk transfer)
Experience supporting and auditing an ISO 9000 or equivalent Quality System
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and methods
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field from accredited college/university
15+ years' experience in supply chain / quality within an engineering/manufacturing environment
Experience auditing or assessing supplier manufacturing processes in a fast-paced production environment, with a keen eye for identifying process improvement opportunities
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings for a variety of material components
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Excellent communication skills, written and spoken across cultures, time zones, and styles
Must be willing to travel as required (up to 50%)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Knowledge of steel castings, forgings, hydraulics, engines, and electrical components
Considerable track record of Supplier Development in Steel Fabrications, Steel castings in heavy equipment manufacturing organization
Experience working with C-Suite at suppliers in problem resolution & performance improvement
Expert knowledge in the application of Quality Management Systems, problem resolution techniques and improvement tools essential - 8D,APQP,PPAP,MSA
Certification in lean manufacturing (Ex. IASSC Sig Sigma Black/Green Belt, SME Lean Gold, etc)
Analytical skills with the ability to effectively analyse and present data
Experience leading large global teams in a matrix reporting environment to achieve objectives
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Languages:
Fluent in English both written and spoken
Travel:
Must be willing and able to travel locally and globally (up to 50%)
Salary: The compensation for this position is $150k - $220k. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
