Job Description
Our part time physics (astronomy) tutor role plays an essential role in guiding and helping students through the subjects of organic and biochemistry in conjunction with our faculty. What you do matters here!
$14.81 - $19.99 Hourly

Location of Work: Stark State College Main Campus, North Canton and Stark State Akron, Akron Campus and some online hours available.
Typical Hours of Work: (up to 29 hours worked)
Typical in person shifts are scheduled:
Mon through Thursday 10:00am - 5:00pm
Typical online shifts are scheduled (as available):
Fri & Sat 10:00am - 2:00pm and Sun - Thu 4:00pm - 10:00pm

Typical Responsibilities Include:
Engage students and systematically and consistently provide learning support services to students in a positive and efficient method.
Provide assistance to students by helping with lecture or lab material in chemistry courses, as well as help with study methods, or technology needed to complete course related material.
Greet students and visitors. Assist with answering general questions about the college, providing assistance and guidance to college services
Tutoring will take place primarily in person at either the main campus or at our Akron location. Online tutoring may be available based on hourly needs.
To be Considered You’ll Need:
A bachelor's degree in physics or closely related field is required with course work in calculus based physics or astronomy preferred.
Microsoft Office Application skills, excellent communication, and comfort with technology usage is preferred.
