    UW Medical Center-Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager on our Endoscopy Unit. The Assistant Nurse Manager is a supervisory position, responsible for clinical functions, staffing assignments, and care coordination.

    ABOUT OUR ENDOSCOPY UNIT
  • We are a high-volume procedural unit
  • We have 3 rooms and see close to 24 patients each day
  • RNs provide procedural support for therapeutic, diagnostic, and screening GI services and bronchoscopies

    WORK SCHEDULE
  • 4x10 shift schedule
  • Primarily day shifts, Monday-Friday, with on call responsibilities for off hours cases
  • On call responsibilities include one weekend per month

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Acts as a lead point of contact for Registered Nurses and Medical Assistants
  • Establishes effective workflows for routine tasks and projects
  • Provides procedural nursing support, which includes providing patient care before, during, and after conscious sedation
  • Facilitates staff meetings in conjunction with the Nurse Manager
  • Reviews unit staffing schedule and plans for coverage due to vacations, LOAs, and vacant positions
  • Monitors unit acuity and patient flow, and supports care coordination for complex patients
  • Participates in unit and organizational committees, taskforces, and work groups
  • Provides feedback to the Nurse Manager for annual performance evaluations
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates unit orientation for staff
  • Models service excellence in daily practice
  • Demonstrates ability to provide “just in time” feedback to staff regarding clinical performance, interpersonal team interactions, and patient/family communication
  • Promotes practices and decisions that reduce human error and promote staff/patient safety

    REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years of recent endoscopic nursing experience
  • Previous conscious sedation experience
  • Previous charge, lead, or supervisory work experience
  • Active BLS
  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
