Position Description | The School of Art and Design at Texas State University seeks to develop a pool of communication design educators with expertise in a broad range of communication design practices for full and part-time positions at the rank of Lecturer and Visiting Assistant Professor. Successful candidates will be able to teach courses in foundations, interaction design, typography and branding at a variety of levels in the program with a focus on conceptual thinking and technical proficiency. All positions are subject to availability of funds. Lecturer positions are nontenure line, nine-month faculty positions, based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period. Visiting Assistant Professor positions are nontenure line, nine-month faculty positions, subject to annual reappointment review, and renewable for one year upon expiration of the initial term.
