POSITION PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to ensure Palmetto's buildings and vehicles are in working order; clean and well maintained as to maximize the functionality and appearance of AIC centers and vehicles. This position oversees any contractors required for cleaning, pest control, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and vehicle repairs. This position may be utilized to perform painting, plumbing, light electrical, general repairs, vehicle maintenance, as well as landscaping.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING

Experience/Education

• High School diploma, valid driver's license with an excellent driving record, free of disciplinary restrictions. Proficient in carpentry, general knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC.  

Other Qualifications

• Dependable in attendance and job-related duties.
• Must be over 21 years of age.
• A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
• Must be able to assume a flexible work schedule.
• Able to travel.

Interpersonal Skills

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills in handling interactions with Palmetto Infusion staff, other agencies, groups, patients and families.

Technology Skills

• Competent in use of company email as means of communication.
• Competent in the use of company self-service payroll software (time and attendance, benefits, pay statements).
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products and the ability to navigate Internet Explorer. Proficient in typing, word processing (Microsoft Outlook/Express, Word, Excel), and familiar with office equipment.

Language Skills

• This position requires a knowledge of, and sensitivity to, cultural and language differences.

Mathematical Skills

• Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

• There are a number of deadlines associated with this position. The employee must also multi-task and interact with a wider variety of people on various and, at times, complicated issues.

Physical Demands

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk and hear. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, reading, as well as driving or riding in transport vehicles. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors and staff.

Other Skills

• Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains maintenance vehicle in a clean, orderly and safe condition; informs supervisor of any vehicle performance or safety problems; operates the vehicle in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations; ensures completion of schedule or necessary maintenance of the vehicle.
• Properly maintains and accounts for all tools and other supplies needed to perform duties.
• Reviews the general appearance of all buildings and building contents such as patient chairs, ceilings, walls, walkways and restroom facilities on a quarterly basis. Compiles a report noting deficiencies.
• Responds quickly to building repair requests and schedules on site work within 48 hours.
• Maintains good communication with site managers and solicits feedback as to building maintenance needs.
• Participates in performance improvement, safety and other committee and individual activities, as requested.
• Actively participates in the upfit or renovation of leased space. Acts as a liaison between contractors and Palmetto Infusion.
• Accepts periodic on-call assignment for delivery.
• Keeps accurate logs of vehicle maintenance to include vendor utilized, vehicle VIN, nature of repair, date and time allotted for repair. All logs are to be turned in with bi-weekly payroll.
• Observes all company safety rules and regulations.
• Attends all internal required in-services per year.
• Accurately compiles ordered supplies, and maintains documentation related to maintenance items and cost of repairs.
• Performs all other duties, as requested.
• Communicates with patients and staff in a professional manner.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the primary functions of this job. Normal office conditions exist, and the noise level in the work environment can vary from low to moderate. Limited overnight travel may be required from time to time.
