The iPhone team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to be part of its world-class engineering team to deliver the future of iPhone to our customers. The role calls for a Hardware Design Engineer who is inspired by the chance to make design decisions, often difficult ones, that will benefit millions of iPhone users worldwide. Description
This is an outstanding hardware design position with participation in development of new technologies for rigid, flex, and substrate PCB designs across iPhone products under close collaboration with key cross functional partners in Cupertino.
Responsibilities include:
Developing technology solutions at the PCB/module level that enable various product goals in cost, thermal performance, battery life, reliability, and environmental impact.
Collaborating with technology teams exploring process improvements and materials that enable reductions in routing density, power loss, coexistence, and insertion loss while keeping solution dimensions the same or smaller.
Contributing to cross functional system and module designs across antenna flexes, camera substrates, MLB PCBs, and system flexes.
There will also be opportunities for international travel.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent with strong engineering fundamentals
- Broad experience across different applications and technologies
- Experience with schematic capture and rigid/flexible PCB layout
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Exposure to solving unwanted coupling and interference between subsystems
- Familiarity with the challenges of taking a product from early architecture through to production
- Hands on experience with lab test equipment to debug difficult/intermittent hardware issues
- Understanding of low voltage power regulation and delivery
- Experience in prototype design and validation of custom silicon
- Ability to use scripting languages to assist with hardware development
- Ability to analyze solutions and make system design trade-offs
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
