SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Facility Maintenance Technician will be responsible for executing the maintenance, preventive maintenance, and housekeeping of the Avon Facility with regard to equipment, utilities, building systems, grounds and all services required for daily operations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

5+ years' experience in a building trade or maintenance environment.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Good verbal and written communications skills
Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Comprehend technical documents and blueprints
Experience with LOTO procedures, requirements and safe work practices
Must possess good working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems including automotive repair
Experience with powered hand tools, operating medium size trucks, tractors, ATVs and other ancillary equipment



PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Work requires hearing, mental and visual attention
Able to lift 50 lbs., bend and lift frequently and work in a dusty environment, as required



WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a fast-paced work environment with consistent pressure to complete duties as outlined above which requires ability to manage multiple projects at a detailed level and provide support to many internal departments in a fast-changing environment. Many duties listed above are time-sensitive and have strict deadlines for completion.

Responsibilities




ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned)

Maintenance and housekeeping of all building systems, equipment and grounds, whether performed by outside contractors or internal resources
Work first-hand with the providers of outside contracted services related to facility, grounds, equipment maintenance, and building services. Ensure that safe work practices are being exercised and monitor the work, periodically
Maintain and prepare company vehicles related to facility fleet, to include automobiles, trucks, ATVs, snow plows and salt spreaders
Responsible for all aspects of the snow-removal program. Ensure all walkways, drives and lots are maintained to internal specifications by prioritization and effectively managing the workforce. Communicate with outside contractors as necessary.
Adhere to the preventative maintenance program, while assisting with the refinement and development of preventative maintenance activities for all facility equipment. Schedule repairs and preventative maintenance through outside services, as required.
Maintain check sheets, procedures, and work instructions to ensure compliance with internal, State and Federal requirements. This includes ShurTape's policies and procedure compliance.
Regularly interface with office personnel, Customer Logistics, Manufacturing, outside contractors, Maintenance & Engineering, with regard to varied requests or projects.
Embrace a teamwork mentality and consider input and feedback from all levels. Responds to requests in a timely manner and knows when to engage the assistance of others.
Assist the Facility Manager with the management of the building cost center, while seeking operational cost savings opportunities
Ensure that all required facility spare parts inventories are current and stock levels satisfy the needs to support the operation.
Ability to see a task or project from cradle to grave, while demonstrating pride in ownership and meeting project deadlines.
