Required Skills:
This position requires a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or Engineering Management and 2 years of ServiceNow software development experience. Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: 1) Performing daily administration of the ServiceNow Service Mapping, Discovery and CMDB, including mapping additional defined business services into the tool as defined. 2) Working with systems managers to ensure that the Discovery tool has the appropriate access and permissions to capture configuration information. 3) Reviewing the data being populated into the CMDB for accuracy and developing Automation in ServiceNow as needed. 4) Performing work using the following tools and technologies: ServiceNow: Core Platform, Discovery/CMDB, Java Script, SQL, HTML, CSS. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Master's program. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.

Job Description:
The Senior Software Engineer - Service Now Developer position will be part of the CMDB and Discovery Team and develop automation for Discovery/CMDB, create/maintain the Service Mapping to ensure its ongoing health through routine health checks as it relates to Service Mapping and all CMDB discovery related functions (troubleshooting, creating & maintaining discovery schedules, pattern remediation). Specific job duties include: Work with process owners to understand the process requirements related to the capture of configuration data and develop technical specifications and solutions. Work with systems managers to ensure that the Discovery tool has the appropriate access and permissions to capture configuration information. Work with Application SMEs to create and validate Service Maps for key applications. Collaborate with Infrastructure Architects to understand IT technology strategy that guide which requirements need to be gathered. Create of custom discovery patterns as needed. Discovery troubleshooting and pattern remediation. Provide visibility to the performance and issues related to discovery. Participate in Configuration Management meetings and Daily Scrums. Perform daily administration of the ServiceNow Service Mapping, Discovery and CMDB, including mapping additional defined business services into the tool as defined. Maintain the integrity of the Service Mapping tool across production and non-production environments. Assist in validating and troubleshooting patch / release management issues, and upgrades. Review the data being populated into the CMDB for accuracy. Develop Automation in ServiceNow as needed. Perform work using the following tools and technologies: ServiceNow: Core Platform, Discovery/CMDB, Java Script, SQL, HTML, CSS.. Employment location: Telecommuting available from anywhere in US.
